piCalculator within Proclaim – Eclipse’s latest integration simplifies damages calculation

Eclipse Legal Systems, the Law Society Endorsed legal software provider, has announced the integration of Proclaim Case Management with the award-winning piCalculator from Rebmark Legal Solutions.

piCalculator is a powerful software tool that makes it easy for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Lawyers to build a court-ready schedule of loss.  Users can enter their client’s past and future losses and piCalculator will work out the interest and multiplier calculations, eliminating the need for reference materials and calculators. All losses can be instantly updated if key information changes ensuring that the schedule is always accurate. piCalculator prepares a complete tailored court-ready schedule, incorporating multiple loss headings and narrative sections. Eclipse’s integration with piCalculator means the schedule can be saved directly into Proclaim, ready for filing with court if required.

The integration allows users to effortlessly create a schedule from Proclaim at the click of a button, taking them directly to piCalculator’s advanced browser-based schedule builder. On completing their work, users can transfer the schedule back into Proclaim, again with a single click– making the process easier and quicker.

Tracy Blencowe (pictured), Business Solutions Director at Eclipse Legal Systems, comments:

“The integration with piCalculator is the latest in a series of Eclipse integrations with a number of high-profile software providers, and will simplify the process of calculating damages within Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. We are constantly looking to strengthen our goal of streamlining administrative tasks and enabling our clients to increase the efficiency of their daily business practices – our integration with piCalculator does exactly that.”

Mark Hewitt (pictured), winner at the recent Claims Innovation Awards for ‘Outstanding Innovator’, and Managing Director at Rebmark Legal Solutions says:

“piCalculator was developed to make preparing a schedule of loss as easy as possible and this integration with Proclaim makes the process even more straightforward.  Our powerful schedule building software can be accessed seamlessly through Proclaim and because data is shared it removes the need for duplication of effort.  As the only Law Society endorsed Case Management System, Proclaim was the obvious choice for our first integration project.”

How Proclaim Case Management helps new start-ups to become industry heavyweights

Proclaim powers Personal Injury heavyweight to 8,000% growth

“Proclaim has provided us with the power to continually enhance our processes, drive out waste and increase margins”

Imran Akram, CEO

Founded in 2009 by brothers Kamran and Imran Akram, Asons Solicitors employs over 250 staff at its Bolton HQ and has established itself as one of the north-west’s largest law firms.

The Challenge
As a new start up, Asons needed to find a way to compete with the many well-established giants of the Personal Injury sector. Investment in technology was required in the form of a Case Management Software solution that was user-friendly, adaptable and would allow for the consistent management of high volumes of cases with the utmost quality and efficiency.

The Solution
A Proclaim Case Management system was chosen as it provided a centralised desktop solution with a consistent look and feel for all of Ason’s case types, not just Personal Injury but also other areas they may choose to go into. The integrated Proclaim development toolset also ensured the system would be future-proof as it allowed for straightforward expansion creating confidence for ambitious growth plans.

The Results
Proclaim has been fundamental in giving Asons a competitive edge. Staff numbers have grown from 3 to over 250 (8,200% growth) since its inception. All routine tasks are now automated allowing fee earners to fully focus on client relationships rather than non-value adding administration. As a result of this, 88% of the firm’s staff are revenue generating fee earners with only 12% dedicated to ‘support’ functions.

Client Case Study: Minards Pavlou

How to enhance competitive edge with Proclaim Case Management

"Implementing Proclaim Case Management has proved to be a sound business decision and a great investment."

Paul Pavlou (Managing Partner), Minards Pavlou

Minards Pavlou started life in 1988. The firm specialises in personal injury claims, catering for a range of matter types, with a niche emphasis on motorbike claims.

The challenge

As a small practice, Minards Pavlou had reached a plateau in the firm's development. It was decided that, to optimise the speed of matter progression, a new Case Management Software platform should be sought.

The solution

Following an initial meeting at the Legal IT Show in London, the practice made the decision to replace its incumbent system with Proclaim.  Proclaim was regarded as the market leading solution - the system's flexibility and data management capabilities greatly appealed to the Minards Pavlou team.

The results

Paul Pavlou, Managing Partner at Minards Pavlou, reports that upon hearing of the IT investment, he was asked "How can you afford to take the risk of changing your IT systems, as a small firm, just as the recession is biting?"

Paul's response was concise and to the point: "How can we afford not to?"

Proclaim has seen the practice improve information sharing, remove re-keying and duplication of effort, and reduce administrative overhead.  The result is a faster turnaround of files (new instructions fully actioned on the day they are received) and consistent levels of quality for both business partners and clients.  Minards Pavlou has been able to expand both its case throughput, and its headcount of legal professionals - a perfect example of utilising technology to help move the business forward.

Case Study Highlights:

  • End-to-end PI Case Management Solution
  • Removal of administrative overhead
  • Rapid turnaround of files
  • Enables measured practice growth
